FAQ – Angler AI | Predictive CAPI, Signal & Audience Questions Answered
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Angler's Foundation Ad Model, signal infrastructure, and how to get started.
Business Fit
Why does my business need Angler AI?
Angler builds a Foundation Ad Model for your brand — turning first-party data into auction-ready signal. Customers see on average a 54–84% reduction in new customer CAC and 16× return on Angler spend. With 80%+ of ad decisions now made by platform AI with no signal from your brand, Angler closes that gap.
Can B2B brands use Angler, or only B2C?
Both. Angler works for B2C and B2B brands using paid media inside walled gardens to acquire new customers or businesses.
What does it cost?
Plans depend on customization, support level, and your event volume or spend optimized through Angler. Monthly billing with annual savings available. Book a call to find the right plan.
How many events can we run through Angler?
As many as you'd like. Angler processes over 200 million events per month in near-real-time and scales to your volume.
Getting Started
Can I test Angler before committing to a plan?
Yes — Angler offers a 30-day free trial with no upfront commitment or payment. Test the platform on your real data before deciding. Start your free trial →
Will a free trial mess up my existing data?
No. Angler's Predictive CAPI is set up inside a brand-new dataset in your Meta Events Manager, completely isolated from your BAU activity. It only affects campaigns you specifically optimize with Angler's dataset.
How It Works
What is a Predictive CAPI?
CAPI integrations send reliable, identifier-rich consumer actions from your site or app directly to ad platforms — bypassing browser limitations. Angler's Predictive CAPI goes further: an AI model predicts the future outcome of each action before sending, letting platforms optimize toward your actual business objective: new customers, high-LTV buyers, high-value leads, and more.
How is Angler's CAPI different from Meta's?
Meta's Conversions API is the framework Angler uses to send events — but Angler layers a predictive AI model on top. Meta's native CAPI sends raw events; Angler sends enriched predictive signal that trains the algorithm to bid toward your best customers.
Do I need a browser pixel if I already have a CAPI?
Browser pixels are optional when using Angler's Predictive CAPI. The server-side signal is complete and reliable on its own.
How configurable is Angler's CAPI?
Highly configurable — by objective, audience type, event type, and more. Read all configuration options →
Can Angler's Predictive CAPI enhance the main pixel after the trial?
Yes. After the trial Angler can send predictive events directly to your main pixel, optimizing all campaigns while preserving retargeting history. When you make the switch, disable your existing CAPI integration (e.g. Shopify's CAPI) to prevent event duplication.
Targeting & Testing
How should I exclude current customers from A/B tests?
Use audience exclusions in your campaign setup, applying identical exclusion lists to both challenger and control groups. Recommended exclusions:
- Past purchasers (lifetime, or at least last 1–2 years)
- CRM lists (leads who haven’t purchased yet)
- Optionally: site visitors from the last 90–180 days
Build the site visitors audience from page view events on your current pixel.
